Antique Art Deco Micro Beaded Bakelite Carved Frame Handbag/Purse! Such a beautiful work of hand made art in the form of an antique flapper purse, from during or before the Art Deco era.

Everything was made to the highest detail in those days and this rare collectible is no different. Made of a deep carved cherry red bakelite frame that is expertly painted with a sunflower motif. The purse body is an exacting pattern of fine glass beads in an array of luscious colors; lavender, lapis blue, black, popping hot pink and a subdued gold. All the tiny beads arrange to make a flower pattern across the entire bag portion of the purse with a dainty hot pink and black border beaded handle to carry. The sunflower design frame was earnestly carved in deep relief into the antique cherry amber bakelite, boldly setting off the floral themed beadwork. The purse body is delicately sewn onto the frame. A little bit of fabric glue was used to reattach the silk on the bottom of the handle at some point along the way. In excellent condition especially for its age with only the most minor of wear.
