A Beauty! Vintage Hand-Faceted Cherry Amber Bakelite Bead Choker Necklace

  

This is a stunning necklace of graduated, oval-shaped, hand-faceted, cherry. They date to around 1925 or 1930; the Art Deco time period. This necklace still retains the original, beautiful, seamless, cherry bakelite barrel clasp, in my opinion this makes it extra special, as it gives it an uninterrupted, seamless, circular elegance. These stunning beads have all the qualities that are highly prized in cherry amber bakelite necklaces. They have exceptional cherry color.

Many other faceted bakelite necklaces have a brownish red tone (like brewed Assam tea) that is pretty, but not as luscious as this true cherry tone. These are very cherry, with gorgeous flashes and pools of brilliant orange red. The color is so intense and dazzling; hard to describe unless you see them in person. They also have terrific translucency, so even moderate light levels really make them flash the red prisms. The bead shapes, the bold faceting, and the length are very Art Deco in style, chic, elegant.

SIZE: This is a choker necklace, very lovely and round, measuring 15.25 inches in length. It sits beautifully, with the largest bead resting in the hollow of your clavicle. The largest bead is 1" in length, and the smallest is 3/8" in length.

WEIGHT: This necklace has a total weight of 19 grams. CONDITION: The beads are in wonderful, vintage condition, with a brilliant and lustrous finish.

The facets flash and sparkle. There are no chips or cracks to the beads. The necklace is freshly, professionally re-strung onto #7 red silk cord, securely knotted and ready to wear. The original bakelite barrel clasp is in great shape. This is a beauty, and so fun to wear.
