Antique fine hand-carved Chinese ruby amber-backlit Kwan yin [Guan yin] republic of china period. This lovely Kwanyin is done with sturdy, professional carving, creating a vivid goddess holding a lotus flower. It is well polished, hand-polished as can be seen from the images. It was once attached to a base, as there are some marks to the base of the figure. There are no losses or scratches other than a fine age patina.
