ART DECO Clear Cherry Amber/Bakelite Necklace, Faceted, Knotted, Flapper

  
This listing is for a magnificent, clear, cherry amber/bakelite beaded necklace, dating from the 1920's-1930's. It comprises superbly faceted beads, which are graduated and hand-knotted, allowing them to flow gracefully down the body. The faceting is very detailed and absolutely exquisite. There is a fastening - by the two smallest beads screwing into each other, giving a seamless elegant line, but the necklace is very long and designed to just pop over your head. The necklace is in wonderful condition.

It belonged to my great-aunt, who wore it in the 1920s-1930s, and has had only two owners; it has been carefully stored and worn gently. Length: Drop is 18 inches. Size of beads: Largest bead is 1 inch x 0.75 inches; smallest bead is appr.
