VTG Dark Cherry Amber Bakelite Faturan Beaded Necklace Rosary 123g 28 Mid East. This is a very nice Middle Eastern authentic dark black cherry amber Bakelite necklace. I believe this piece is natural amber, not Bakelite. It did not pass the Bakelite test with semi chrome polish. It did not turn yellow when rubbed or I cannot get a smell of phenolic resin. When held to the light, you can see bits and chunks and definitely bright red inside each bead but they are thick beads and very dark so it is hard to get a picture. Please see my two pictures and you can see the transparency through the bead. Very interesting shapes and sizes of beads that fit together well. Wearable length is 28 inches with black cord that is tied into tassels at the end. Total weight is a hefty 123.2 g. This is a nice piece for collectors.
